Landing in Entebbe: The First Night Done Properly
The Airport Is Not Kampala
Entebbe International Airport sits on a peninsula in Lake Victoria, about an hour from Kampala in kind traffic and longer in the rain. Many travellers sleep in Entebbe the first night. It is calmer, closer to the runway, and kinder after a long-haul flight.
Kampala is the city: Kiwatule, our office at IM Mall C14, markets, food, and the reality of a capital. Stay there if you want a city evening. Stay in Entebbe if you want to land and stop.
We Do Not Drive All Night
Gorilla forests are a full day’s road from Entebbe when you include meals and a border of fatigue. Starting a trek the morning after a 10 p.m. landing is how people get sick in the forest. We build a buffer night. If your flight is brutal, we say so.
Paperwork and Health
Passport validity, return ticket, and vaccination rules depend on your nationality. Yellow fever certificates are commonly asked. We are not an embassy. We will still remind you before you fly.
The Office
Kitum Cave Safaris Limited works from Kiwatule, Kampala, IM Mall, C14, Monday to Saturday, 8:00am–5:00pm East Africa Time. WhatsApp and email stay open around the clock. If you want to meet before the safari, book the hour. Do not assume someone is at the mall on a Sunday morning.
[Send your landing time with your inquiry. The first night is part of the itinerary, not an afterthought.]
